WHAT IS YOUR LEAD TIME?

IS IT EXPENSIVE?

Pricing is comparable to a composite or quality hardwood, with long term savings because of its low maintenance.
WHAT SCREW DO I NEED?

Because galvanic corrosion happens when dissimilar metals come into contact with each other we prefer using a hardened self tapping aluminum screws these are recommended for coastal conditions. If you are not exposed to constant salt air you can also use self tapping galvanized steel screws.
DO YOU INSTALL?

No, we don't, however, we have trained certified installers in your area.
CAN I DO IT MYSELF?

Yes, any homeowner or contractor can do it.
IS THERE TOUCH UP FOR SCRATCHES?

WHEN DOES THE FINISH NEED TO BE REFINISHED?

With Knotwood, you never have to paint, stain or oil it, saving you time and money.
WHAT SIZES DOES KNOTWOOD COME IN?

All of Knotwood parts come in 18'6" lengths for convenience when covering large areas.
HOW IS THE WOOD GRAIN APPLIED?

The process involves the physical reaction between special inks and a polyurethane or polyester powder coating. Under controlled conditions of heat and pressure, photographic images are absorbed directly into the powder coating.
HOW LONG WILL KNOTWOOD LAST?

DOES IT SCRATCH?

If mistreated anything will scratch but it is the most durable exterior finish available to date.
DOES THE DECKING GET HOT?

Yes, in direct sunlight the decking will be warm. Aluminum dissipates heat faster than any other material and tests have shown Knotwood aluminum decking to be slightly cooler than traditional wood, composites and ipe.

HOW DO I HANDLE OR STORE KNOTWOOD?

Aluminum can, with very little care, be kept in good condition. It has a high natural resistance to the corrosive conditions normally encountered during transport and storage. The principal conditions against which it is necessary to guard are those likely to cause surface abrasion and water stains.
